The Qingdao New Airport Project is a regional hub airport that is planned and constructed in the national "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" and a gateway airport in Northeast Asia. It is designed with the highest international operation level 4F standard. The stainless steel roof of the terminal building of Qingdao New Airport has a total area of 223,000 square meters. After completion, it will become the world's largest ultra-thin stainless steel roof. The stainless steel plate is made of ultra-pure ferrite, with a thickness of 0.5 mm, and only the thickness of a sheet of A4 paper. All the connecting seams are continuously welded to form a whole airtight steel plate, which fundamentally ensures the reliability of the waterproofing of the roofing system. Even when rainwater flows over the ribs of the roof panel, no leakage will occur. The roof slope, strong wind direction and other factors will no longer be a hidden danger of roof leakage.
